This April 26, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 1:
    Among those graduating recently from an intensive course of Radio Fundamentals training at service schools at Great Lakes was Hugh Jean Tyler, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Tyler, Lowell.
    This Bluejacket was selected for his specialized training on the basis of his recruit training aptitude test scores. Graduates from the twenty specialized courses taught here at the service schools are sent to sea, to shore stations, or to advanced schools for further duty.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the May 23, 1946, issue (page 7, column 3):
    Hugh Jean Tyler, ETM 2/c, has received his honorable discharge from the navy at the Naval Personnel Separation Center at Shoemaker, Calif.
