Cpl. Jack J. King, cook first class who has served in Korea since December, 1950, left the war zone on December 5th and anticipates being home soon after Christmas to spend a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Poland, and his wife and small son, Timmy.This February 14, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
- Corporal Jack King arrived last Friday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Poland, concluding 11 months of service in Korea. Jack left Japan aboard the USNS R.L. Howze which docked in Seattle on January 26th. Jack is enjoying his 30-day furlough with his wife and tiny son, Timmy, in Hammond. He is looking forward to receiving his discharge from service in September.
