from The Lowell Tribune, Aug. 10, 1950, page 2, column 2:
    Mrs. Lee of our local draft board informs us that names of draftees will not be published until after induction. However, some names have unofficially reached our desk. Fellows called to report in Indianapolis for examination day, are Gilbert Dewes, who has since his call, enlisted in the air corps, Bill Jonelis, Homer Allie, Ed Ceiga, and Jack Riggs.
The following April 12, 1951, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 7, column 3:

    HOMER ALLIE HOME ON FURLOUGH

    Sergeant Homer Allie returned home recently after being recalled to active duty in the air force. He arrived home Sunday and will be here for 20 days. Homer was eagerly welcomed by his family. He is now stationed at Maxwell Field, Alabama.
This January 10, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 5:
    Arthur Kasparian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kasparian, and Herman Allie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allie, Sr., of near Mt. Ayer, left Monday, January 8th, for Great Lakes Naval Training Station to start their 11 weeks basic training. The Allies formerly lived near Lake Dalecarlia and Herman graduated from Lowell high school last spring.
This February 7, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Homer Allie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allie of Mt. Ayr, former Lowell residents, who is serving with the Air Corps, has been awarded the rating of technical sergeant. Homer, an L.H.S. graduate, is with a commanding squadron and keeps records of enlistments and discharges. Letters from home friends would be so welcome. Address: T/Sgt. Homer E. Allie, 15242-540, 3803 Comm. Sqdn, Maxwell AF Base, Montgomery, Ala.
This July 3, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 4:

    Homer Allie Discharged

    Homer Allie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allie of Mt. Ayer, former Lowell folks, was discharged from the Air Force at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala., on May 14th, having served four years and nine months.

    Homer, a graduate of Lowell high school, entered Colorado University at Boulder, Colo., on June 15th. He plans to complete four years of college work, majoring in international affairs.
