The following May 26, 1949, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 9, column 2:
- Mary Elizabeth (Trump) Childers, one of 10 children, was born in Anville
township, Lebanon county, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 17, 1856, and passed
away May 19, 1949, at the age of 92 years, nine months, two days. She
moved to West Creek when 18 years old.
In the year 1881* she was united in marriage to John Childers and to this union were born four children: Andrew, Milford, Sadie and Cyril, who preceded her in death 17 years ago. Her husband passed away 32years ago.
Mrs. Childers leaves to mourn her departure her two sons, Andrew and Milford, and daughter, Mrs. Sadie Carstens, all of Lowell; also 32 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, making 97 grandchildren living and five who have passed to the Great Beyond; also one sister, Mrs. Minnie Pinkerton and G.L. Trump both of Lowell; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 21, from Sheets Chapel at 2 p.m., E.L. Worley, minister in charge. Burial was made in Lowell cemetery.
