The following information was found in the Souvenir Album of Lake County, 1906, found at the Lowell Public Library
    In Shelby, Indiana, lives a woman whose lineage is interesting -- Mrs. J.A. Warner, a second cousin of Mrs. Hettie Green, the world's richest woman, possessing a reputed fortune of $50,000,000. Mrs. Warner was born on the shore of Lake Champlain, in Vermont. She came with her father, Dr. J.B. Hoag, to Starke County, Indiana, in 1855. When still a child her mother died and an aunt cared for her. She came to Lake County in 1862. She taught school at sixteen years of age. She married J.A. Warner, a merchant of Hammond, Five years ago she located in Shelby, where she has prospered as a restaurant keeper. The trade is accommodated early and late and her lunches and coffee are relished by her patrons. All the hungry and thirsty travelers or residents are invited to stop at Mrs. Warner's restaurant.
