Louisa J. Ritter Mock

Louisa J. Ritter (1825-1910) was the oldest child of George Ritter. After her husband Adam Mock died in Mississippi in 1863 during the Civil War, Louisa moved to Kosciusko County, Indiana, where her brothers had already relocated. She married twice more (to widowers) and was widowed twice more. Although she never had children of her own, she adopted a niece from her brother John Ritter after his wife, Sarah Jane Taylor, died. Sarah was formerly from West Creek. This picture was taken in 1891 when Louisa was 65, at the time of her third marriage.
