The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Rev. Claude J. Eaton New Pastor of Methodist Church

    The Lowell community extends a warm welcome to Rev. and Mrs. Claude J. Eaton. Rev. Eaton has been assigned to the pastorate of the First Methodist church in Lowell.

    The Eatons come to Lowell from Brownsburg, near Indianapolis, where Rev. Eaton served as pastor of the Calvary Methodist church for the past five and one-half years. Prior to his pastorate at Brownsburg, he was associated with the Henderson Settlement, a mission at Frakes, Kentucky, where he directed social work in addition to his ministerial duties.

    Rev. Eaton is a native of Pittsburg, Pa. Mrs. Eaton, a primary school teacher, is a Hoosier. The Eatons have three sons, Donald, who is stationed at Enid, Okla., with the Air Force; Glen, serving with the Army, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; John, oldest of their sons, recently discharged from the Army, after serving 13 months in Germany with the medical corps. John will resume his studies at Ball State Teachers College in the fall.
