The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Farewell Party Honors Lucian Bares

    Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Bare were delightfully surprised at a farewell party Friday evening.

    The Bares were dinner guests in the Robert Potter home and in the early evening members of the Methodist Family Fellowship class staged a surprise appearance. They brought party fare for the late luncheon and a token of remembrance for the honorees. The gift was a movie screen.

    Mr. and Mrs. Bare have been members of the class during their residency here. Mr. Bare resigned from his position with the Lowell National Bank and the family is moving to Westfield, Ill. Their future plans are indefinite.

    Following a pleasant evening of games and visiting, the Bares were bid farewell amid a volley of best wishes for a future of happiness and success extended by the 27 members of the class were present.
