Death of Jacob Bauer.
Jacob Bauer died at his home on North Pierce street last night at 11:45 of pneumonia, aged 43 years. Funeral will take place Saturday at 1 o'clock.Mr. Bauer has been engaged in buying grain and operating the warehouse here for about 21 years. So genial and honest has he been to all in business transactions that he was one of the most popular grain dealers in this section of the country. He was known by almost everybody in Crawford and counties adjoining it. He always met you with kindness and no matter what business cares pressed upon him, to those around him he was always the same jolly, cheerful and apparently happy man.
The announcement of his death is a shock to his large circle of acquaintances. So ambitious and energetic was he that he went about attending to his business affairs until only a few days before his death. Mr. Bauer was a great worker, always busy and it can be said of him that he "died with the harness on."
He was married to Miss Alice Dodane in 1875. Three children were born to them, all of whom are dead. He leaves a loving wife and hosts of relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death.
