The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Mrs. Otto Krause, 80, Passed Away Jan. 13

She was born July 16, 1874, in Cedar Creek township, near Robinson Prairie, the daughter of George and Margaret Becker. She was one of eight children, four sisters and three brothers, all of whom preceded her in death.

On October 27, 1906, she was married to Otto Krause, also of Lowell, and they spent their lifetime together farming in the Lowell community. They had recently moved to Creston.

Surviving with her husband is their daughter, Elizabeth, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 16, in the Sheets Funeral Home. Rev. E.L. Worley officiated. Interment was made in the Orchard Grove cemetery.
