Thomas W. Cushman

Thomas W. Cushman

The following unidentified newspaper article, hand-dated 1924, was in a collection owned by Lowell Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    DEATH OF FORMER RESIDENT

Relatives of Thomas Cushman living here were shocked to hear of his sudden death a week ago last Saturday night at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. D.D. Mee in Irving Park, Ill. He ate supper and seemed to be in his usual health and was sitting down when he was stricken, and passed away before any aid could be summoned.

Thomas Cushman was well known here, having lived in Lowell up to a few years ago. He was 84 years of age.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.E. Highlands, of Chicago, and Mrs. H.E. Osborne, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The funeral services were held from the chapel, 3918 Irving Park Blvd., Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The remains were taken to Woodstock, Ill., for burial beside his wife and daughter.

He leaves several nieces and nephews in Lowell to mourn him.
