    Following enlistment, Charles W. Eich left February 7 for recruit training at U.S. Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Eich, of R.R.1, Lowell.

    His address is: Charles W. Eich, S.R. 416-34-35, Co. 79, 84th Battalion U.S. Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.


This March 13, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 5:
    Mrs. Charles Eich and daughter, Janet, visited their son and brother, Charles W. Eich, a seaman recruit, at Great Lakes, Ill., Sunday.

This March 27, 1952 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 5, column 6:
    Charles W. Eich, who is stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, had as his Sunday guests his mother, Mrs. Charles Eich, his sister, Janet, and nephew and niece, Thomas and Mary Agnes Taylor.

This April 17, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 2:
    Charles W. Eich, seaman recruit at Great Lakes, had as his guests on Easter Sunday, his mother, Mrs. Charles M. Eich, his sister, Miss Janet, and Miss Margaret McIntyre of Chicago. Charles started his recruit training the first week in February.

The following May 8, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 2:

    Completes Seaman Recruit Training

    Having completed his Seaman's Recruit training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Charles W. Eich arrived home last week to enjoy a two-week leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Eich, and sisters, Miss Janet and Mrs. Victor Taylor and family. Upon return, Charles expects to receive assignment aboard ship.

The following August 28, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Charles W. Eich, seaman apprentice, aboard the Destroyer, H.J. Ellison, returned to Norfolk, Virginia, by plane on Tuesday, after spending a six-day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Eich.

The following October 23, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Charles W. Eich, seaman apprentice aboard the Destroyer H.J. Ellison, Norfolk, Va., was home on short leave to be present at a dinner honoring him on his birthday, given on Saturday evening at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Eich, and Miss Janet. Other guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Victor L. Taylor and family, and Miss Elizabeth Ann Taylor of Crown Point.
