A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Dec. 13, 1956, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

Sympathy is extended Mrs. George Wooldridge and Milton Harris of Lowell in the death of their sister, Mrs. Vernice Gritten, 68, of 3524 Highway Ave., Tuesday morning, December 11. Burial was made in the Sanders cemetery, Lowell. Mrs. Gritten was born and reared in Lowell. Other survivors include a son, Raymond Lloyd of Piqua, Ohio, and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Cox and Mrs. Maurice Bunch, both of Highland.
