A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the May 27, 1954, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Rev. Norman Herbert Accepts Pastorate at Mt. Prospect, Illinois

    Rev. Norman Herbert has accepted the pastorate at the Presbyterian church in Mt. Prospect, Ill., and with his wife and two children will move there next week.

    Rev. Herbert came here in May of 1952 to serve as pastor of the Lake Prairie Presbyterian church while attending classes at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. Rev. Herbert was the recipient of a diploma awarded by the Seminary on May 6 at Commencement exercises held in the 4th Avenue Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Rev. Herbert was the successor of Rev. Kenneth T. McGehee, who now serves as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Bell Plains, Kansas.

    The esteemed Rev. Herbert and family take with them the well wishes of the Lowell community for happiness and a successful future at Mt. Prospect.
