Received Letter from Great Grandson
Mrs. H.S. Love received a letter from her great grandson, Ernest W. Love, a member of the Merchant Marines, this week. Young Love has been in this branch of service since Aug. 1944, enlisting at the age of 16. He has been aboard a ship serving as escort to convoys of freighters hauling supplies to islands in the Pacific, and his ship is now engaged in bringing troops back to the States. He has had one furlough while in port at San Francisco and visited his parents at Monte Vista, Colo. He says he really likes the navy, has good quarters and good eats.He is also a great grandson of Mrs. Volney Foster of Lowell. These two ladies are only ones we know of here who have a great grandson in the service.
