The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Louis F. Paulsen Dies; Former Lowell Resident

    Louis F. Paulsen, 76, died Saturday at his home in Griffith, where he had been a resident for 24 years. He and his family formerly lived in Lowell.

    Mr. Paulsen was a retired employee of Keen Foundry. He had been in failing health for some time but was up and about until death came suddenly.

    The Rev. W.E. Holm officiated at services held in the Griffith Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6. Burial was in Calumet Park cemetery.

    Survivors include the widow, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Westerberg of Lowell, and Mrs. Oscar Ahrens of Griffith; four sons, Melvin of Chicago, Elmer and Harry of Griffith, and Wilmer of Crown Point; two brothers, Herman of Peotone, Ill., and Henry of Harvey, Ill., and eight grandchildren.
