(Mrs. Frank Slayton)

The following March 24, 1927, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 2:

    Mrs. Jane Slayton

Mrs. Mary Jane Slayton was born July 20, 1837. She lived with her parents in New York until her marriage to Frank Slayton in 1860. They moved to Lowell shortly after her marriage where she continued to reside until the death of Mr. Slayton. To this union two sons and two daughters were born; Mrs. Emma Stanton, Mrs. Jennie Fehlman, Charles Slayton and one dying in infancy. All have preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn a large family of grand children, and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Dillabaugh and Mrs. E.H. Sherman, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Slayton has for the past two years made her home with her sister Mrs. Sherman at Crown Point, where she died on March 17, 1927, at the age of 89 years, after a lingering illness.

In her early married life she and her husband joined the M.E. church in Lowell.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Lowell Sunday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. A.E. Dougherty, pastor of the church.

Music was furnished by Mrs. J.W. Belshaw and Mrs. J.A. Taylor, with Miss Showalter at the piano. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery.
