The following September 13, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:

Lt. (j.g.) and Mrs. Robert Smith are enjoying a 15-day leave from his base at Traverse City, Mich. At present they are in Greensburg, Ind, visiting Lt. Smith's parents, but will return to the W.H. Tatman home the latter part of the week for a few days.
