Merle Toney

The following November 6, 1952, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 2, column 4:
    Corporal Merle Toney and wife have returned to California after a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Toney of R.R. 2, Lowell.

    Corporal Toney will leave for Korea the last of the month where he is to serve as a message center man.

    He entered the service November 24th, 1951, received his boot training at the Marine base in San Diego, Calif., and was a member of the Honor Platoon when graduated. Since leaving boot camp he has been stationed at Camp Pendleton with the Third Marine Division.

    His wife will return to Hammond after he goes overseas, where she will reside with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Bregar.
