Medora Walker

Medora Walker

The following February 2, 1921, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 4:

Schneider Gives Farewell Party to Miss Walker

The people of Schneider gave a farewell party at the school house last Friday evening in honor of Miss Medora Walker, teacher of the intermediate department in the Schneider school. The pupils of the school and the citizens of the town participated in a lengthy program which was concluded with several selections on the violin by Miss Walker, who is an accomplished musician. At the conclusion of the program, Robert Fegan, of Lowell, who was spokesman of the evening, presented Miss Walker with a beautiful string of pearls, presented to her by the pupils and patrons of the school, as a slight token of the high esteem Miss Walker was held by them.

As a fitting climax to a most delightful evening a most sumptuous luncheon was served after the program, by the ladies of Schneider. The meeting was one of the largest ever held in Schneider. We understand that Miss Walker has accepted a position in the Hammond schools at a much greater salary than she was receiving in Schneider, and while the people of that place regret to see her leave they wish her abundant success in her new location.
