A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the Sept. 13, 1956, Lowell Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Former Lowell Teacher Dies In Crown Point

    Miss Anna J. Wilson, 86, died Sunday, Sept. 2, in her home at 310 South Court St., in Crown Point.

    Born at Leroy, Miss Wilson attended Valparaiso University and started her teaching career at Lowell Grade school. She taught here from 1886 to 1893 and at Crown Point from 1893 to 1907, from where she went to Chicago and taught until she retired in 1935.

    Rev. Humphrey Walz of the First Presbyterian Church of Crown Point officiated at memorial services conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Merriam funeral home and interment was made in the Salem Cemetery, Hebron.

    She is survived by a sister, Margaret Wilson of Crown Point, and a brother, Edward of Chicago.
