The following April 7, 1927, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 2:
- Mrs. Mira Sanders, who has been making her home with her son, N.L. Sanders, at Attica, Ind., for some time, came here two weeks ago to visit her son Charles and wife. In a few days she was taken seriously sick and passed away at the home of her son, yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held at the home Friday at 1:30 p.m.
This April 14, 1927, Lowell Tribune obituary appeared on page 1, column 5:
- Elmyra Hopkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hopkins, was born at Laporte, Ind., on the twelfth day of March 1843, and departed this life on April 6, 1927.
She was one of thirteen children of whom five now remain. Three sisters, Mrs. Clark Williams, of Lafayette, Ind., Mrs. J.D. Jewett, of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mrs. L. Castle, of Lowell, Ind., and two brothers, W.L. Hopkins and Charles Hopkins.
In November 1863 she was married to Martin J. Sanders, and to this union two children were born -- Charles, living on the home place, and N.L., of Attica, Ind.
Mrs. Sanders united with the Church of Christ in Lowell many years ago, remaining a member of the congregation all her life time.
She is survived by two sons and one grand child, Julia Anderson, of Rockford, Ill.
Services in charge of Rev. Dunning, pastor of the Christian church at Crown Point, were held at the home southwest of Lowell, on Friday afternoon, April 8th, and interment was made in the beautiful cemetery adjoining the home place.
Interment was in charge of Undertakers Sheets and Son.
The following acted as pall bearers: Amos Brannon, C.W. Pulver, C.W. Bowman, Earle Pulver, Walter Einspahr, S.H. Petrie.
