The following August 31, 1944, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 6:

    SCHNEIDER RESIDENT DIES AT JASPER CO. HOSPITAL

    Alonzo Monroe Vicory, 63, a resident of Schneider for a number of years, passed away at the Jasper county hospital at Rensselaer Saturday afternoon.

    He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two daughters, and one son.

    Funeral services were held at the Schneider church at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Rev. E.L. Worley officiating. Interment was made in the Lake Village cemetery in charge of Kenneth Sheets.
