This April 13, 1901, Lowell Souvenir article was found on page 7, column 3:
    Mrs. J.B. Bailey was taken suddenly ill last week, but is now much improved.
This May 18, 1901, Lowell Souvenir article was found on page 11, column 3:
    A very happy surprise party of eight young ladies called upon Mrs. J.B. Bailey, at her West Creek home, Thursday afternoon. The time was spent in visiting, and some nice musical selections enlivened the occasion. A camera was brought and a picture of the party taken on the lawn.
From a Jan.18, 1902, Lowell Souvenir (page 7, column 1):
    Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Bailey returned from Indianapolis.
More details were give on page 11, column 1 of the same issue of the paper:
    Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Bailey returned from Indianapolis Monday morning. Mrs. Bailey visited an aunt whom she had not seen for fifty-two years, while Mr. Bailey attended the Corn Breeder's Association.
From the April 26, 1902, Lowell Souvenir (page 8, column 2):
    J.B. Bailey and wife spent a couple of days in the ciry this week, returning Tuesday.
This Jan. 3, 1903, Lowell Souvenir article was found on page 9, column 1:
This May 2, 1903, Lowell Souvenir article appeared on page 8, column 2. (Note the spellings of the names, which are slightly different from the above articles. The aunt is actually Mrs. J.B. Bailey.):
    Mrs. J.C. Baily and her neice Ione Chapman formally installed themselves in their new home in Lowell, Thursday.
From the May 9, 1903, Lowell Souvenir (page 6, column 1):
    Mrs. J.B. Bailey has been suffering several days with grip.
From the Oct. 19, 1916, Lowell Tribune (page 5, column 3):
    Mrs. James Thorington, of Romeo, Mich., arrived here Tuesday morning for a visit with relatives and friends.
From the Nov. 9, 1916, Lowell Tribune (page 6, column 5):
    Mrs. James Thorington, who has been visiting relatives here for the past three weeks left for her home in Romeo, Mich., Monday morning.
From the Jan. 4, 1917, Lowell Tribune (page 5, column 4):
    Mr. and Mrs. James Thorington, of Romeo, Mich., are visiting relatives and friends in Lowell and vicinity.
A Feb. 8, 1917, Lowell Tribune article (page 1, column 1) mentions that Mrs. James Thorington ordered a "very beautiful monument for West Creek."

From the Feb. 22, 1917, Lowell Tribune (page 3, column 4):
    Mrs. James Thorington and Mrs. John Hack were Chicago visitors Saturday.
The March 22, 1917, Lowell Tribune lists Mrs. James Thorington as among its subscribers (page 12, column 1).

The Lowell M.E. Church notes in the July 12, 1917, Lowell Tribune (page 5, column 6) include the following:
    Mr. and Mrs. James Thorington were received by letter into the church at the morning service.
The following March 11, 1920, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 1, column 3:

    79th Birthday

    Saturday, March 7th, was the 79th birthday anniversary of our esteemed townswoman, Mrs. James Thorington, and Mr. and Mrs. John Castle came down from East Chicago on that day to help celebrate the event. The day was most pleasantly spent by all at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thorington on Washington street. A fine dinner was served which was greatly enjoyed by all. We extend to Mrs. Thorington our congratulations on having reached such an advanced age and we with her many friends hope she may live to enjoy many more such happy anniversaries.
The following article appeard on page 1, column 6, of the February 17, 1927, Lowell Tribune:

    MRS. AMELIA THORINGTON PASSES AWAY

    Mrs. Amelia Thorington, who has been in poor health for a long time, passed away at her home Sunday morning. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Obituary next week.
The following Lowell Tribune obituary appeared on page 1, column 2, of the February 24, 1927, paper:
    Amelia Gregg Thorington was born in Livonia, New York, March 7, 1841, and died at her home in Lowell, February 13, 1927, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 6 days. She came to Indiana with her father in her early girlhood.

    She was married to Sanford Sanger in 1867. To this union one daughter, Sarah E., was born Dec. 13, 1867, and died Dec. 9th, 1880. Mr. Sanger died in 1874. She was married to J.B. Bailey in 1877. She resided in West Creek township until Mr. Bailey's death in 1902. In 1916 she was married to James Thorington whose death occurred in 1925.

    She was a member of the Methodist church, having confessed her faith in early life.

    Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday of last week at 1:30 p.m. Rev. A.E. Dougherty, pastor of the M.E. Church, conducted the funeral service. Undertaker Wm. Sheets had charge of interment which was made in Lowell cemetery. The following acted as pall bearers: George Bailey, Charles Bailey, Ray Bailey, Fred Buse, John Castle, George Wooldridge.
