    ARTHUR DILLY TAKES OWN LIFE

CRESTON MERCHANT SHOOTS HIMSELF TUESDAY WHILE IN CHICAGO

When the news reached Lowell Tuesday morning that Arthur Dilly, of Creston, was a suicide in Chicago, it was a great shock to his friends both in Creston and Lowell.

Mr. Dilly came to Creston about two or three years ago and together with his father bought the Harry Taylor store, which they have conducted ever since. They had the postoffice in connection with the store. He was a young man about 31 years of age and was a man who made friends with all whom he came in contact and that he should be a suicide was almost unbelievable.

His mother went to Chicago immediately after getting the news. We have endeavored to get the particulars in the case, but to the time of going to press were unable to do so, further than he had taken his life about ten o'clock Tuesday morning. No arrangements have been made for holding the funeral at this time.

This February 21, 1929, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 4, column 2:
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dilley were in Chicago several days last week following the death of their son, Arthur. After a matrimonial difference, he had written a note and turned on the gas. He had been dead several hours when he was found. Besides his wife and son, Arthur Jr. and his parents, he leaves two sisters and many friends to mourn his going.
