B.A. Schofield
RETURNED TO PANAMA
B.A. Schofield, formerly of Griffith, this county, who has been on the police force at Panama, Canal Zone, for a long time, finished a three weeks furlough here last Friday and started back. He went to Panama eight years ago and has been a witness to all the great work done there, and seen the pest place for yellow fever and malaria changed into as healthy a climate as we have here. He says it is always warm there, but not as hot as we get here in dog days, and never any frost. The nights are always cool. Since he landed there first a great city has grown up from mere nothing. He feels the place has a great future and he may remain there, as he knows of no place better for a young man to anchor. He left Friday evening to continue his work.Return to Biographies.
