In addition, Mrs. Scolnik sent the following information:

I am in the process of trying to find additional documentation concerning my Davis lineage. The ancestors of Benjamin Johnson Davis were from Offaly Co., Ireland. The earliest "documented" ancestor of the above Davis family is Benjamin Jefferson Davis, born 1810, in Lancaster, PA. I was fortunate to have found an obituary in an early newspaper in Hamilton Co., Indiana, which listed his birthplace and actual date of death. I also have the Civil War pension record of Nathan Davis, who is the father of the above Benjamin Johnson Davis. I only list persons whose relationships I can prove through written documents.
