Bessie Driscoll Taylor (1867-1949)

- Mrs. Henry Taylor, of Jefferson county, arrived in Lowell from Indianapolis Monday of last week, where she visited relatives. She brought Frank Fletcher's little daughter with her. She reports that Frank has a good position and they like it there. Mrs. Taylor departed for Indianapolis Friday evening on her return home. She expresses herself as well pleased with their new home.
The following June 9, 1949, Lowell Tribune obituary appeared on page 9, column 2:
- Bessie Driscoll Taylor, daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Binyon) Driscoll, was born in Lowell Dec. 31, 1867, and passed away at St. Anthony's Home, Crown Point, May 30, 1949, at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
In 1901 she was united in marriage to Henry C. Taylor, who preceded her in death. After her husband's death she returned to Lowell and remained here until six years ago when she was taken to St. Anthony's Home. While in Lowell she enjoyed visiting with folks and always welcomed company. She made friends wherever she went and was especially fond of children in the neighborhood.
Besides a sister, Mrs. Ella Sheilds of Fr. Lauderdale,Fla., and a brother, D.C. Driscoll, she leaves to mourn her several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Sheets Chapel Tuesday, June 1st, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Paul Reisen, minister of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in the Lowell cemetery.
