Blanche Cullum Becomes Bride of John A. Smith
Miss Blanche A. Cullum of this city, and John Anthony Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith of Brookston, were quietly married at the home of the bride on West Washington Street, May 31, 1921, at 5 p.m. by the Rev. T.J. Bassett, pastor of the local Methodist church. The only guests were the father and sister of the bride, the father and mother of the bridegroom, and the Rev. and Mrs. Bassett.The bride is a very successful teacher of White county, and for the past few years has taught in the Monticello schools. She is a very charming young woman, with a personality that has won her many friends.
The bridegroom was in the service during the late war and most of that time was at Lafayette where he was an instructor in the mechanical department of Purdue University.
He has been a member of the Richey, Pierson and Smith hardware store for the past year, previous to that time having been connected with the J.F. Horner Auto Company, and the Willard Battery Company.
The happy couple left at 6:09 for Chicago and expect to pass their honeymoon with a trip on Lake Michigan.
They will be at home to their friends after July 1st, at their home they recently purchased on North Dewey street. -- Monticello (Ind.) Evening Journal.
