The following article was found in the July 11, 1957, Lowell Tribune on page 5, column 2:

    Announce Engagement

    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Wienen of Lowell announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn, to Bob Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pierce of Hebron.

    Carolyn, a graduate of Lowell high school, class of 1956, is employed at the Lowell National Bank.

    Bob was graduated from Lowell high school in 1955 and served for two years with the Army. He is now employed at Standard Oil in Whiting.

    No date has been set for the wedding.
