The following article was found in the Sept. 20, 1945, Lowell Tribune on page 2, column 1:

Promoted to Technician 5th Grade

Tinian, Mariana Islands -- Pfc. Byrl B. Mitch, son of Mrs. Maggie Mitch, Lowell, has been promoted to Technician, fifth grade. Tec. 5 Mitch is assigned to the medical detachment, 310th General Hospital, which is now stationed on Tinian. The unit is part of the 821st hospital center.
