The following March 26, 1925 Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 5:

    CARL HAMANN CALLED

    Carl Hamann, one of our most respected citizens, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 1925, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 13 days. Mr. Hamann moved to this vicinity several years ago, buying the farm he occupied at the time of his death, of J.W. Lilly. He has made his residence here ever since, and during that time he made warm friends, who esteemed him greatly for his sterling qualities. He was born in Germany but emigrated to this country many years ago. He leaves to mourn him, besides his wife, several children and several step-children.

    Funeral services were held in the German Evangelical church at Grant Park Friday, the service being in charge of the pastor of the church. Interment was made in the Evangelical cemetery, five miles northwest of Grant Park.
