Surprise Party Marks Silver Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kaiser

The silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kaiser will ever be a treasured memory. Married 25 years ago, August 30, their children planned a lovely surprise party Sunday evening to mark the event.

Away during the early evening, the Kaisers returned to find relatives and friends gathered in their home. A four-tiered wedding cake centered the refreshment table, prettily decorated in white and silver.

The celebrants and their guests enjoyed a pleasant evening of visiting and reminiscing back to that summer day when Carl, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kaiser who farmed north of Crown Point, claimed Ruth, daughter of Orville and Edith Hale, Orchard Grove farmers, as his bride in a ceremony performed at Valparaiso. The couple honeymooned in Canada and at Niagara Falls.

For a short time they farmed in the Crown Point community, then 20 years ago they purchased the Woodke farm north of Orchard Grove corners which they operate as a dairy and beef cattle farm.

The Kaisers have three lovely children of whom they are very proud. Alan and Janet are senior and junior students at Lowell high school and Lee is in grade school. All have achieved many honors in their work on 4-H club projects.

Mr. and Mrs. Kaiser express thanks to all who shared in making their 25th anniversary such a happy occasion.
