Cassius Clark "Cass" Dwyer (1868-1904)
- Cassius Clark Dwyer was born October 6, 1868, at Lowell, Indiana, and died August 16, 1904, aged 38 years, 10 months and 11 days, having been an invalid for several years. His death, although sudden, was not a surprise to the bereaved family and friends.
Cass, as he was usually called, was highly respected by all who knew him, was well educated, a fine musician, and polite and respectful to all, young and old. His youth was spent in and about Lowell and Crown Point, and for years in the early eighties at Greencastle, this state, attending college. It need not be said that it is a sad thing for a promising young man to be so stricken. He leaves surviving immediate members of the family, his parents, John M. Dwyer and Cornelia A. Dwyer, one brother Schuyler C. and one sister Mrs. Sylvia M. Abrams, of Greencastle, two brothers and sisters having departed this life in their infancy.
The funeral services, which were largely attended, occurred from the home of his parents at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. D.D. Hoagland preached the funeral discourse. Funeral Director John Castle had charge of the burial services. J.W. Belshaw, F.H. Viant, Fred Burnham, Will Tanner, W.L. Handley and E.J. Pixley acted as pall bearers. Interment in the Lowell cemetery. The bereaved relatives and friends have the sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement.
