A copy of the following newspaper article, hand-identified as being from the May 6, 1954, Tribune, was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Funeral Friday for Charles Reeves, 76

    Charles A. Reeves, 76, of Schneider passed away Tuesday, May 4, at St. Margaret's hospital in Hammond. He had been ill a long time.

    Before illness forced his retirement, Mr. Reeves served as Schneider's Town Marshall, being esteemed by all who knew him. He is an honorary member of the Schneider Volunteer Fire department and a member of the Lowell Methodist church.

    Memorial services will be conducted by Rev. E.L. Worley at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, at the Sheets funeral home. Interment will be in the Lowell cemetery.

    Surviving with is wife Anna, are four sons: Harold of Lowell, Richard of Gary, Walter of Lowell and John of Calumet City; five daughters; Doris Bell of Dayton, Ohio, Maxine Krueger of Calumet City, Pauline Massie of Bordeau, France, Laverne Massie of Hamilton, Ohio, Alice Dalton of Kalamazoo Mich., and one step daughter, Irma Rockstead of Wonder Lake, Ill., also 11 grandchildren, besides a host of friends.
