The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Charles Boyle, Prominent Roselawn Farmer, Dies

    Charles Boyle, 88, well known Roselawn farmer, died at Jasper County hospital in Rensselaer on August 19.

    The son of Edward and Sarah Boyle, Charles was born in Magnolia, Ill., April 29, 1868. Soon after his birth his family moved to Lake Village, and after a few years, bought a farm near Roselawn, where Charles, with his sister, Clara Boyle, resided throughout his lifetime.

    Surviving besides his sister are many close friends.

    Memorial services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, in the Sheets Funeral Home, with Rev. E. L. Worley officiating. Interment was made in the Roselawn cemetery.
