Charles V. Wood
- Mrs. Minnie Wood spent several days last week with her son, Chester, and family in Chicago. Her grandson, Charles Wood, with the U. S. infantry in Texas, was home on furlough.
The following January 11, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
Wounded During French Campaign
We are informed by Mrs. Minnie Wood that her grandson, Pvt. Chas. V. Wood, with Lt. General Patton's 3rd army, was wounded during the French campaign on Dec. 3rd. He is now taking treatment for his wounds in a hospital in England.A son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wood of Chicago, he is well known here where he has visited his grandmother and other relatives many times. He entered the army in February, 1943, and has been overseas since last summer.
