Claude E. "Froggie" Coppick

A copy of the following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

    Memorial Rites Today For C.E. Coppick

    Claude E. "Froggie" Coppick, 65, died at his home on West Commercial Ave., Monday afternoon, December 3. He had been in poor health for the past two years.

    Born near Tipton, Ind., September 7, 1891, he came to Lake County in 1942 and for a time was employed in the Gary Steel Mills. Here, he worked for area farmers and was a part-time employee at Bolt's Super Market. He was widely known.

    Survivors include a son, Robert, of Staten Island, New York, and two sisters who reside at Tipton.

    Memorial services were held at 11 o'clock this morning, December 6, in the Eskridge Funeral home, with Rev. E.L. Worley officiating, Burial was in the Lowell cemetery.
