Clifford W. Zak (1923-1955)
- From a list of soldiers now at Camp Atterbury, who have 85 or more points, and who will soon be discharged from service, we find the names of two from Lowell along with others from the county:
- Pvt. Herbert Hadders, Lowell.

The following May 19, 1955, Lowell Tribune article was found in the Lowell Public Library local history clippings file (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 68):
- Deepest sympathy is extended the family of Clifford Zak, 31, who died at noon Wed., May 18, in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Zak, He recently had been in ill health. Born in Chicago Nov. 21, 1923, Clifford attended school in Lowell, both grade and high school, and served four years with the Army during World War II, spending three years overseas. Clifford was a building contractor. Surviving with his wife Rosalie and son Stephen Michael, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Zak, one brother, Russell, all of Lowell, and a sister, Mrs. Evangeline Tucker of Hobart.
