    Cordell P. Sylvie, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 1990.
    He is survived by wife, Sharon, Lowell; daughter, Corinne, Cedar Lake; two sons, Cordell P. Sylvie II, Crown Point; Shawn C. Sylvie, Lowell; sister, Rita Miller, Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services May 12 at Burdan Funeral Home, Cedar Lake, with Pastor John K. Wortinger. Burial at the Lowell Memorial Cemetery, Lowell.
    Sylvie was a driver for the Red-Top Trucking Company, Hammond. He was a member of Teamsters Local 142, Gary. He was also a member of the Cedar Lake Boat Patrol from 1960-70. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the United States Marines, he received the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
