The following May 8, 1969, Lowell Tribune article was found in the Lowell Public Library local history files (LH--Vital Statistics, vol. 5, page 78):

    Hayden Rites Monday

    Delbert Hayden, age 75, of 711 East Main St., Lowell, passed away on Friday, May 2, 1969.

    Surviving are his wife, Mabel; one son, James of Springfield, Illinois; three grandchildren; two brothers, John of Phoenix, Arizona, and George of Lakeland, Florida; one sister, Vera Buekllow of LaGrange, Illinois; and many neices and nephews.

    Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5. The Rev. Stanley Rolston officiated. Burial was in West Creek Cemetery. Masonic services were held Sunday at 7 p.m.

    Delbert was a lifetime resident of Lowell, a retired farmer, Veteran of WWI, and a member of Colfax Lodge 378 F & AM, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Indian Trail Grange and Lowell First United Methodist Church.
