Delores Geis Bride of Richard Nance
Yellow chrysanthemums decorated St. Edward's church for the 11 o'clock wedding Saturday, January 19, 1957, when Miss Delores Gies became the bride of Richard Nance. The Rev. Father Chester P. Surawiec officiated at the double ring service.Miss Gies is the daughter of Mrs. Josephine Gies of 322 North Castle Street, and Mr. Nance is the son of Mrs. Frank Molsberger of Lake Dalecarlia.
Given in marriage by her brother, Clarence A. Gies, the bride appeared in a lovely ballerina gown fashioned of white satin and Chantilly lace. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a beautiful bouquet.
The bride asked her niece, Miss Bonnie Lindberg of Merrillville to be her maid of honor, and bridesmaid was Mrs. John Verbalaitis of Crown Point. Both wore pretty ballerina gowns in pink and pale green, respectively.
Thomas Gies of Chicago, cousin of the bride, was best man and Jack Nance of Lake Dale, brother of the groom, served as groomsman.
Both the bride and groom's mothers chose ensembles of navy blue.
Dinner was held for the bridal party and members following the ceremony, and in the evening a reception was held in the Lowell VFW hall.
The bride is an employee of Bolt's Super Market in Lowell, and the groom is employed by the Gary Produce Company.
The couple are honeymooning in Florida and upon their return will reside at Lake Dalecarlia.
