The following April 11, 1968, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 7, column 4:
    U.S. Air Force Sergeant Donald F. Reid, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Reid of Rt. 1, Cedar Lake, Ind., has received the Air Medal at McGuire AFB, N.J., for air action in Southeast Asia.

    Sergeant Reid, a C-130 Hercules aircraft loadmaster, was decorated for meritorious achievement during aerial flights. He was cited for his outstanding airmanship and courage on successful and important missions under hazardous conditions. The sergeant flew more than 100 missions in Southeast Asia.

    He is now assigned to a unit of the Military Airlift Command at McGuire.

    Sergeant Reid is a 1964 graduate of Crown Point High School.
