Earl Clinton

The following article was found in the Feb. 10, 1949, Lowell Tribune on page 1, column 5:

BARN ON EARL CLINTON FARM BURNS TO GROUND

The barn on the farm tenanted by Earl Clinton, known as the Mill Pond farm south of Crown Point, burned to the ground last Wednesday morning with a loss of 11 head of cattle, five head of hogs, several tons of hay and feed and other contents.

Clinton, who formerly farmed in the Lowell community, estimated the damage, which represented a total loss as no insurance was carried, at more than $3,000. This figure did not include the value of the barn.

Quick action of the Crown Point fire department prevented the flames from spreading to other nearby buildings. Cause of the fire was undetermined.
