    Cpl. Herman Fox and R.M. 3/c Earl Pace returned to their camps after a furlough at home.

This Lowell Tribune article was found in the May 17, 1945, issue (page 2, column 1):
    Earl Pace, Jr., R.M. 2/c. is here enjoying a 15-day leave with his wife and baby, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pace., Sr. He leaves Friday ro return to his base.

This October 11, 1945, Lowell Tibune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    After spending a fifteen day leave here with his family and his parents, the Earl Paces, Sr., Earl Pace, Jr., R.M. 1/c, left Monday for Staten Island, N.Y., where he is stationed on board the submarine U.S.S. Cutlass. His undersea craft had docked at New York just before he came home, after serving in Pacific waters, near Japan.

This November 29, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 2:
    Earl Pace, Jr., is here visiting his wife and his parents, the Earl Paces, Sr. Earl, Jr., a radio man aboard a submarine, will return to duty Dec. 5th.

This December 27, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 1:
    Earl Pace, Jr., who has been a radio man aboard a submarine, received his discharge from service last week, and is now at home here with his family and his parents.
