Edgar C. Alexander

The following unidentified newspaper article was found in a scrapbook owned by Town Historian Richard Schmal:

E.C. Alexander, 44, Chemical CO. Head, Dies

Edgar C. Alexander, 44, of 310 E. Commercial Avenue, died on June 17th, after an illness of six weeks. He had established the Alexander Chemical Co. at Shelby about a year ago.

Survivors include his wife, Louise, and two daughters, Mrs. Lou Ann Gray, and Miss Melva Jean; his father, B.C. Alexander of Fair Oaks; his mother, Mrs. Edith Alexander of Denver; two brothers, two sisters, and a half-sister.

Memorial services were held Tuesday at Windsor, Missouri, his home town, and in accord with his request, his former basketball team served as pallbearers, and his good friend, the Rev. Frank Steuer, officiated.

Mrs. Alexander and daughters are extended deepest sympathy by their many Lowell and Shelby friends.
