Edna May Smith Nichols
(Mrs. Charles Elmer Nichols)
WILL CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY
MR. AND MRS. C.E. NICHOLS MARRIED 50 YEARS NEXT SATURDAY, JUNE 25.
We have received an invitation to attend the 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Nichols at their home in Santa Monica, California, next Saturday, June 25th, and it would give us a great deal of pleasure indeed to do so but guess we will have to forego the pleasure until our good friends celebrate their 100th anniversary.Mr. and Mrs. Nichols were united in marriage June 25, 1888 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Smith.
The Nichols have one daughter, Mrs. H.A. Hildebrandt, of Santa Monica, and three grandchildren -- Ruth, Charles and Madge Hildebrandt.
For the past 20 years Mr. and Mrs. Nichols have made their home in California. Previous to that time they resided in Lowell, and in Crown Point and Chicago a short tine.
For a great many years Mr. Nichols was engaged in the buying of grain in Lowell and when he disposed of his business here he moved to California, where, with Mr. Hildebrandt, he conducts an ice plant.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols feel very grateful to have been permitted to live together for so many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols have a host of friends here at their old home who will join with The Tribune, in wishing for them many more years of happy wedded life.
