The following May 3, 1945, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 2, column 3:

Wounded On Luzon

Pfc. Edward P. Rosenwinkle, with the U.S. infantry on Luzon, has been wounded by shrapnel, according to his father, Edward Rosenwinkle, Sr., of near Lowell. Recent letters from him state that he is recovering nicely and expects to go back into combat soon. His wife resides in Hammond.
