The following July 3, 1952, Lowell Tribune article was found on page 4, column 2:

    Elmer Childress & Sons Top Chicago Market by 75 cents on Butcher Hogs

    Elmer Childress and Sons of Eagle Creek Township, who last week sold thirty 280-lb. butcher hogs through Stevens & Davis, commission men at the Union Stock Yards, Chicago, topped the market price for the day by 75 cents for that weight.

    The Childresses have bred bacon type hogs for the past ten years with unusual success.
