The following May 31, 1928, Lowell Tribune article appeared on page 1, column 6:

    DEATH OF INFANT

    Ethel May, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Witmer, of LaCrosse, Indiana, died very suddenly of May 21st. The little one had been having an attack of the flu, but was thought to be getting better. On the morning of the 21st, when the parents arose they thought the little one was sleeping, but later when the mother went to the bed she found that the babe had passed away. The coroner's verdict was death from bronchial pneumonia. She was 3 months and 20 days of age. Interment was made in the LaCrosse cemetery. Mrs. Witmer is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Spry near Lowell.
